Cell Phones in the Classroom
Michael Chiumento, Burlington
Twp. High School English teacher and Nina Franco, Burlington Twp. High School
LMS
It is no secret that kids,
especially teens, spend a large portion of their day communicating via their
cell phones. It is also common knowledge
that many teachers and administrators view cell phones in a school environment
as distractions, instruments for cheating, and other various disciplinary
problems. This session will examine and
demonstrate cell phones as learning tools for students both in and out of
school. You will see examples of how teachers with the aid of the Internet can
reach and engage kids throughout grade levels and across curriculums.
