Data and services are being migrated to "the cloud" at a rapid rate, but what does this mean for libraries? More importantly, what exactly is the cloud and what are the practical uses that can be applied to improve our own work flow as well as provide service for our patrons?
There is no doubt that cloud computing is changing the way we access and store data. This talk, given by Princeton Public Library’s Scott Sanicki and Janie Hermann, will look at several aspects of cloud computing. Trends and advantages (as well as drawbacks) will be examined and practical advice on how you can take advantage of “computing in the cloud” will be given in this hands-on class.
